Details
June is the last easy month before the rain and the heat of high summer. Days are warm, and the rainy season normally reaches Seoul in the last week. This guide is written on 20 October 2026 for June 2027. Where organizers had not announced 2027 dates, it says so and shows the 2026 pattern.

These are 30-year averages, not a forecast. Seoul has the highest daytime temperatures of the three cities in June, while Busan and Jeju get more rain. Check the KMA forecast in the week before you fly.
The rainy season, jangma
The summer rainy season, 장마jangmaRainy season, normally starts around 19 June on Jeju, 23 June in the south and 25 June in the central region, including Seoul. It lasts about 31 days on the mainland and about 32 days on Jeju (KMA). These are normal dates. The real start changes every year.

For a June trip, this means plan outdoor days early in the month, with a back-up plan for the last week. The Korea Tourism Organization says that the summer season partly overlaps the rainy season and advises visitors from late June to late July to check the forecast (VisitKorea). July is the wettest month: see Korea in July.
Typhoons in June
The Korea Tourism Organization says June to October is typhoon season (VisitKorea). June is early in the season. KMA's 1991–2020 normal is 1.7 typhoons forming in the North Pacific in June, and 0.3 affecting Korea (KMA). For the rest of the season, see Korea in August.
What to wear
- Breathable clothes. The KTO recommends breathable clothing, sun protection products, and an umbrella or raincoat for summer.
- A compact umbrella. Rain becomes likely from the last week of the month.
- Shoes that dry quickly. Sandals and canvas shoes soak through in heavy rain.
- A thin layer. Air conditioning on the subway and in cafés is strong.
Holidays in June 2027
| Date | What happens |
|---|---|

Source: KASI calendar data 2027. Memorial Day honors the soldiers and civilians who died for the country, with the largest ceremony at the National Cemetery in Seoul (VisitKorea). Because 6 June 2027 is a Sunday, it does not create a long weekend. Banks and government offices close on public holidays.

The Danoje festival is the most prominent celebration of Dano and is inscribed on UNESCO's Intangible Cultural Heritage list (VisitKorea). Dano falls on the fifth day of the fifth lunar month, which is usually in June. KASI puts it on 9 June in 2027, so the festival will probably be in the same week, but the committee had not announced the 2027 dates. The Seoul pools charged 5,000 won for adults and 3,000 won for children in 2026, and the 2027 season is not announced. For other events, see the Korea Tourism Organization's festival listings.
Crowds and prices
The Korea Tourism Organization names July to August as a peak season (VisitKorea), so June is a good month to travel before prices rise. Many stores hold sales from June to August (VisitKorea).
