T-money vs Climate Card vs WOWPASS: Which Card for Korea? (2026)

Passengers waiting on a Sillim Line platform in Seoul

Summary

For most short trips, a plastic T-money card (₩3,000, topped up with cash) is the simplest choice and works outside Seoul. As of October 2026, Seoul's Climate Card short-term passes cost ₩5,000 for 1 day to ₩20,000 for 7 days plus a ₩3,000 card, and pay off if you ride a lot inside Seoul. iPhone users can skip plastic with Mobile T-money; WOWPASS combines a payment card with a T-money balance.
